We are pleased to offer the below adventurous extreme tour - Trip to the disappearing Aral Sea for 2017. The Aral Sea drying off has become one of the planet's worst environmental disasters. The remnants of the South Aral (Uzbekistan) continue to disappear and its drastic shrinkage has created the Aralkum, a desert on the former lake bed. For many year this lake was considered quite safe, being the 4th biggest lake in the world and occupying the aread of about 67 thousand square kilometers with the length of 427 km and width of 284 km. During the trip to the Aral Sea you will have immense chance to discover this unequalled ghost of the sea in the desert.  Please note the below.

  • The best season for this tour is from mid of April till mid October.

  • It is highly recommended to bring the following items for the convenience of the clients: sunglasses, sunbathe cream, trekking boots, waterproof jacket, long sleeve T-shirt, cap/panama hat, personal medicines, digital camera, etc.


D-01 TASHKENT-NUKUS (by air)

After early breakfast take morning HY-011 (07:10-09:45) flight to Nukus. Upon arrival start full day city tour of Nukus: visit Karakalpakstan Art Museum named after Igor Savitskiy The Savitsky Museum's collection possesses over 90,000 exhibits, including a collection of Russian avant-garde artists, the art of ancient Khorezm, complemented by excellent copies of some exhibits of Louvre in Paris. According to experts, collection of the museum is the best art collections in the Asian region and has the world's second-largest collection of Russian avant-garde. British newspaper The Guardian called the museum "one of the outstanding museums in the world”. (Check-in after 14:00). Then visit Gaurkala ruins and Mizdakhan ruins too.  Overnight at Hotel.

Meals: Lunch at Local Restaurant. Dinner at Local Restaurant.



After early breakfast at 08:00am depart from Nukus to discover  the Aral Sea and the Usturt Plateau. Pass via Kungrad district, which used to be the one of the trading centres on the Silk Road. On the way, see remains of a lighthouse; pass by the ruins of abandoned settlement Urga. Photo stop at the Lake Sudochie. Have a picnic lunch on the way. Continue driving on the immense Usturt Plateau. Stop to take photos of beautiful canyons and the collapsed land.  Arrive at the Aral Sea late in the afternoon. Set up the tent. Camp-style dinner. Overnight in tent.

D-03  ARAL SEA-MUYNAK-NUKUS (450 km, 8 hrs) -TASHKENT(by air)

Early wake up to take photo of sun rise. After breakfast head back to Nukus. Stop to take pictures of beautiful canyons and the collapsed land. Drive on the dried bottom of the sea. One the way stop at the cemetery of nomads. Stop in Muynak town to have a look at the former port with abandoned ships in the sand – “Cemetery of ships”. In Muynak, visit Local History Museum dedicated to the disaster of the Aral Sea. Picnic lunch or lunch at guesthouse in Muynak. Continue driving to Nukus. Arrival Nukus around 17:00 and transfer to airport for evening flight HY-018 (20:45-23:00) to Tashkent.

Meals: Breakfast at Tents. Picnic lunch. Dinner at Local Restaurant.

  • Domestic flights are subject to change in timing and availability. If mentioned flight is not available, it will be changed to convenient one depending on tour program

  • Tour payment should be made not less than 15 days prior to tourist group arrival to our bank account as per invoice.


Cancellation fees:

  • Cancellation prior 45 days – No charges apply 

  • Cancellation prior 20 days – 50% charge of the tour price

  • Cancellation prior 10 days – 100% charge of the tour price
